The donation box is now available in the Fellowship foyer for donations for UUFH’s SMILE-IN-A-BAG project!
We’ll be assembling fun activity bags for kids at Winthrop Hospital. (We’ve been participating since our own Alley Wolff brought this project to the Fellowship almost a decade ago, and we’d love to have your support again this year.)
There are three ways you can help:
1. Donate items for the bags. Each labeled Ziplock bag will contain 3-4 activities for children ranging from newborns to 18 year olds. Please consider donating a few items (the Dollar Store is a great resource!) and placing them in the collection bin in the UUFH foyer.
Items must be new (no food items; no religious or holiday themes; no violent themes; no dolls with removable parts), and suggested items include bubbles; books, pocket games, decks of cards, crayons or colored pencils, puzzles, small stuffed animals, cars or trucks, stickers or joke books, rattles, hair accessories or jewelry, arts and crafts items, yo-yos and party blowouts.
2. Each bag also will have a colorfully-decorated card. There are “card-making kits” at the HIHI table in the Social Hall, with instructions, a sample card, and 20 blank cards to decorate. You can drop those in the collection bin as well.
3. Please join us in the RE wing on Sunday, November 26th (Thanksgiving weekend) after the service as we have fun assembling the bags! (Please no food or coffee while assembling!)
