Halloween and Pumpkin Fundraiser

Some of you may have witnessed the emergence of the Faire Weather Dragon at a service recently. The dragon used to signify the beginning of the Renaissance Faire, a huge UUFH fundraiser many years ago. Although the dragon is dusty and old, it is calling upon us to get our spirits together for another big UUFH fundraising event. This year, our dragon is stepping aside and the great pumpkin and ghosts are taking over.

We’re having a Halloween Party! Not just a party, a month-long series of community events.

The first part is the Pumpkin Patch fundraiser.  This will benefit not only the Fellowship but the Navajo growers of these pumpkins.  This fundraiser will take place throughout the month of October.

We are also having a one day Halloween/Psychic Fair on Saturday, October 14th. The fun includes spooky entertainers, Halloween vendors, a haunted house for children, psychics, costume contests, pumpkin painting and face painting, food, raffles and lots more!!  Please, save the date!

While we’re relying on the ghosts to help us make our castle spooky, we’re really relying on everyone to help make this profitable and fun. Please check the social hall for sign-up sheets for various jobs, which are starting now.

Right now, we are seeking interested volunteers to staff our pumpkin patch. We need to staff it six days per week, with day and early evening shifts. Email Amy, aiolander@gmail.com, if you would be available to help. The weekday shifts (11:00-7:00) will be hardest to fill and we need to know we have the person power.

This will be an exciting month. A Halloween party for the whole town!
