Split-the-Plate Recipients for July: Sophia Fahs and Camping in the Grove Religious Education Camps

The July Split Plate will be shared by two Unitarian Universalist Summer Camps: Sophia Fahs and Camping in the Grove.  Both programs share a commitment to providing an enjoyable and spiritually enriching overnight camping experience for UU youngsters through programs that expand and enhance our year-long UU education, deepen commitment to our Seven Principles, and encourage growth on a personal and communal level.   Monies apportioned for Sophia Fahs, a beloved UU camp on Shelter Island, will be used to help assure that every UUFH child who wants to attend will be able to afford to do so.  Camping in the Grove, operated by the Murray Grove Retreat and Renewal Center on the Jersey Shore, offers a program for children who will be entering 4th through 7th grade in the Fall.  Their focus this summer will be “Social Activism.”   Funds raised will be used to help pay the junior or senior camp counselors and to help keep the camp as affordable as possible.
