The UUFH United Nations Youth Envoys are pleased to invite you to a very special presentation and discussion with our special guests, Bruce Knotts, Director, UU UNO and Joseph Ochill, Every Child is Our Child Program Monitor, Ghana. The Every Child is Our Child (ECOC) program is a partnership between the Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office and the Queen Mothers Association of the Manya Krobo District in Eastern Ghana. The program was created in 2005 to address three of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals:

  • MDG2 Achieve universal primary education (ECOC provides uniforms and supplies to allow children to go to school who otherwise would not have the resources to do so);
  • MDG5 Promote gender equality and empower women (ECOC supports Queen Mothers’ leadership in the community and sponsors twice as many girls as boys through the program); and
  • MDG6 Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases (ECOC sponsors children who have been orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS, providing health care cards for each child and all members of their care-giving families).

The program is entirely funded by the generous gifts of Unitarian Universalist congregations and individuals which have allowed it to continue now into its 14th year.

Please join us in the Main Hall on Sunday April 28th at 12:00,  youth and families are encouraged to attend to learn more about our faith in action and how they can support this amazing program.
