Message from the President of the Board of Trustees
As we say good bye to 2020 and welcome 2021, our thoughts turn to…our Annual Pledge Drive. While a new calendar year is just beginning, we are half-way through our Congregational Year. Thanks to the generous pledges of our members and their continued prompt payments, our finances are very healthy.
With our building closed, our costs are down—but so is our income from events. In past years, our pledge payments covered between 67% and 75% of our budget. Next year, it will have to be more
While serving on the Board for the last 18 months, I have learned that we are so much more than our building. As much as we miss seeing each other in person on Sunday mornings, we have found ways to maintain and deepen our relationships with each other. We have stayed connected and helped each other in many ways, both large and small.
This pandemic has given us the opportunity to invite outstanding speakers from all over the country to our virtual pulpit and Fellowship Hour to enlighten and challenge us.
In these difficult times, we need each other more than ever. And the world needs the values of Unitarian Universalism even more. I know we can count on you continuing your generous support and participation in our upcoming Pledge Party!
