This is a service about not waiting for the system to fix itself before we take care of each other. Joe Sackman runs the Long Island Progressive Coalition and has spent years on a bill that would cover every person in New York, no co-pays, reproductive care included. Jen Edwards spent her career in public health and knows how even people with insurance end up without care. They sit down with Rev. Israel to talk about who gets care in this state and who decides, and what people are already doing for each other in the meantime.
Community Hour this week. Coffee in the social hall, and the Reproductive Justice Team has a letter ready for you to sign asking Albany to give the New York Health Act a vote, stamp included, and a sign-up if you’d like a say in what the team takes on next. Committee chairs and team leaders meet at noon in the Main Hall to compare notes on the year, what each group is planning and where it could use a hand.
Split plate this month, Canine Companions.
